People are our greatest asset and central to our sustainability. We create jobs directly and across our supply chain, and we stand firmly against modern slavery. Our commitment to ethical, sustainable practices is guided by the UN Principles on Business and Human Rights.
We apply central Group policies and tailored divisional ones on key issues like family support, equality & diversity, menopause, and well-being, pregnancy loss and work related stress. These policies are supported by training to ensure consistent implementation.
Our colleagues are the driving force behind our success. We have several Group wide forums which support colleagues and help drive our sustainability objectives forward, all of which report into the LSL Group Sustainability Steering Committee. Find out more in our LSL Sustainability Report
The LSL Inclusion & Diversity Forum brings together colleagues from across the Group to champion a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace. It launched the LSL Race Action Plan, collaborates with our People Team to ensure fair policies such as the parental leave policy, and leads year-round initiatives that promote awareness and belonging to ensure every voice is valued. The Forum is sponsored by LSL Group’s Chief People Officer. In June 2024, e.surv hosted its inaugural PRIDE Picnic at our Head Office, bringing together colleagues from across the business to celebrate inclusivity, connection, and support. The event was a great success, and we’re excited to make it an annual tradition.
The LSL Colleague Engagement Forum (LSL CEF) comprises of elected representatives from across all divisions. It serves as a vital platform for raising and discussing colleague-related matters, bringing together insights from both the elected representatives and our Group Chief People Officer to ensure open dialogue and meaningful engagement.
At e.surv, we have our own Colleague Engagement Forum (CEF), which mirrors and supports the work of the Group CEF Forum. The CEF is a voluntary, fully elected body made up of employees from across the business and senior managers. It provides a two-way communication channel for discussing and resolving issues that affect our workforce.
We prioritise fair pay, ensuring all colleagues earn at least the Real Living Wage and regularly report on our gender pay gap and supplier payment practices. LSL Group is proud to be part of the Change the Race Ratio campaign, to improve racial and ethnic diversity in leadership. Through this commitment, we’re setting clear targets, increasing transparency, and fostering an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
We have focused on being better place to work for our colleagues who have a disability or long-term health condition. We were awarded ‘Disability Confident’ employer status in 2022 and we continue to work on a programme of training with Disability Rights UK to upskill colleagues on Equality and its implications. We are working towards gaining ‘Disability Confident Leader’ status and have designated Disability Champions throughout the business.
At e.surv, the wellbeing of our colleagues is a key priority. We have established a Wellbeing Working Group which is dedicated to promoting a healthy, supportive, and inclusive workplace by championing initiatives that enhance the physical, financial, mental, and emotional wellbeing of all colleagues. We have trained a group of Mental Health First Aiders through MHFA England to offer support and raise awareness across the business. In addition, all colleagues have access to the LSL Property Services Employee Assistance Programme, a confidential 24/7 service offering professional advice and support whenever it’s needed. Surveyors can also access.
