At e.surv, it’s not just about surveying. Our industry-leading technology is driven by our IT team and their expertise is pivotal to our success.
Part of that success comes from the professional development opportunities that are available here – which Kate Stephens (Business Analyst at e.surv) can attest to.
Following 12 months of hard work and determination, Kate has just completed her International Diploma in Business Analysis.
Here’s what she had to say:
“I had been an operations manager for many years, but had always been keen to find an opportunity in IT project work. When a Business Analyst role was advertised at e.surv, I thought it was a great opportunity to make the move. Despite having transferable skills I didn’t have a qualification, and I really wanted to prove that I had what it took to get a recognised qualification in the discipline. e.surv were good enough to support me in that.Kate Stephens, Business Analyst at e.surv Chartered Surveyors
“It took about a year to complete 4 modules with written exams and then a final interview with the BCS to convert those to the diploma. The whole process was quite intense, learning new techniques and formalising some that I already knew about. I’m a single parent to two young daughters, so studying after work was a bit of a juggling act!
“It’s great that my manager sees the benefit in training and improvement for the team, it really makes you feel valued as a team member and helps us deliver the best possible service. I’ve already used some of what I’ve learned since completing the courses. As a business analyst you never know what the next project will bring, and I have many more tools and techniques to hand to deal with any new situations that come my way.”
Congratulations Kate on such a great achievement!
